Imaginations

The Illusionist

I have watched you sleep
With your eyes wide open,
As I could see in them deep
A dream long forgotten.

I have seen you cry hard
From the corner of your lips,
When the waves took apart
The secret of unsailed ships.

I have heard your gasps
Which came along each nod,
Unable to dodge the rasps
They bore with the obvious flawed.

I have felt your cold hands
Under the summer leaves,
They spoke of distant lands
Where not a single soul grieves.

I have tried peeping into you
To find the mystery in your shrine,
But it was not to be, I knew,
The day you looked in mine.

The Last Chapter

Do you remember the faces?
As the stream of tears races
On your heart leaving a stain
And you keep up with the pain
But fail to move along the flow,
Since the eyes cease to glow.

Do you remember how it felt?
Transcending over time you dealt
With all the faces who greeted,
Daily shower of wishes cheated
On your blindfold that mystified
The sense of belief oh so tied.

Do you remember the sounds?
The division bell calling rounds
For you to pass a verdict definite
On the faces masked over deceit
With colours of trust smeared on
That now clouds the future dawn.

Do you remember all the mistakes?
Not realizing how much it takes
To put efforts to make things right,
As others kept on with the fight
You watched but never learned
Alas, against your own you turned.

Do you remember that time?
Now it all make sense and rhyme
Along the words you danced to,
Surpassing all faith your soul too
Will lose, translating what has pearled
That was when you ruled the world.

Dreaming Real

Falling through the dark and distant dream,
Failed grasps aimed for branches supreme,
Thoughts crossed over as the reach recedes-
Landing on the moon may need newer creeds,
Waving above were the leaves passing by
And twinkles smirked while blinking an eye.

All this while the ground grinned below
To greet another fall on its hard pillow,
And high hopes kept sailing higher,
“Oh no” cried the moon in despair.

Falling through the dark and distant dream,
Failed grasps aimed for branches supreme,
Clouds crossed over as the black globe spins,
Stealing the moon as if hiding its sins,
Some leaves fell down some towards the sky,
Though none reach out like wings to fly.

All this while the ground grinned below
To greet another fall on its hard pillow,
And high hopes kept sailing higher,
“Oh no” cried the moon in despair.

And the fall gave away all nearby dreams,
Laying on the back drowned in the screams.
All nearby dreams
Drowned in the screams,
All nearby dreams
Drowned in the screams,
All nearby dreams
Drowned in the screams,
All nearby dreams
Drowned in the screams,
And the fall gave away all nearby dreams,
Laying on the back drowned in the screams.

And high hopes kept sailing higher,
“Oh no” cried the moon in despair.

The Four-Letter Mystery

The age-old question remains open,
Why they fall in love again and again?
Hearts racing against each other?
Smile accompanying a small gesture?
An unknown feeling like the known?
Or that chill within each bone?
The drop of rain hitting your cheek,
While the gloomy cloud becomes weak?
Is it the river of guilt that flows,
When time gives mighty blows?
Beyond all good and bad, is it there?
If not then why – “All is fair…”?
Are ribs stronger than the heart?
Caring only toughens the part.
Don’t know if it’s once and forever,
Or can be found in any other corner.

Three magical words put the spell,
Which rings in the cupid bell.
A smile can cure anything, they said.
But the curve costs a lot, I’ve read.
Walking along the path together,
You can’t keep track of the weather.
Cause though it’s easy to make one smile,
Making them cry doesn’t take a while.
Memories fly in and nests cry out,
All the good times, out the stars shout.
So love, to me, is a mystic being,
Which leads me to ask one thing:
That field Rumi wanted to reach,
What if it only failed to teach?
That you may love and keep on loving,
There prevail ideas of right-and-wrong doing.

Another Night

Stars gazing back at them,
Lights of an ancient realm
Beckons here a future tonight
Bringing such a lovely sight.
Dreams living side by side
Though it ain’t a smooth ride,
But vows don’t promise so,
Roses wouldn’t let thorns go.

Another night, here comes another night,
Let’s hope another night will glow,
Another night, here comes another night,
Let’s help another rose to grow.

Hand in hand is all that stays
When time finds bumpy ways,
Lay under the sky thus they
Without having much to say,
Sea of hopes drowning along
All wrong chords of the song,
Fluttering hearts chirp so gay
Like wind greets cloud every day.

Another night, here comes another night,
Let’s hope another night will stay,
Another night, here comes another night,
Let’s bring another wave to the bay.

The eyes can make pearls dull
As they shine with regrets null,
Her hair breezing by his face,
And her smile with all that grace,
His scent brewing beside her
And the touches of his finger,
On her head trying to weave
A lovely dream they sure will live.

Another night, here comes another night,
Let’s hope another night will relive,
Another night, here comes another night,
Let’s weave another dream to believe.
